• According to Opta, Jamie Mackie's first goal in the 2-0 QPR victory at Leicester was his seventh goal from eight shots on target this season. His second goal took his season tally to the same total he collected at Home Park over the whole of last season. We're only seven games into the Championship, but it's looking rather ominous already for the rest of the division's promotion chasers.

• Another interesting stat: Millwall had lost just one of 36 home games before today. You can guess where this is going then: Watford destroyed them 6-1 at the New Den and jumped up to fifth in the process. Striker Marvin Sordell, another talented Hornets youth academy product, scored again to enhance his burgeoning reputation.

• "Just want this journey to end!!!!" tweeted Yeovil's Dean Bowditch last night on the team's trip north for their League One clash at Huddersfield. His account won't make for pretty reading on the way back to the south-west tonight, the Glovers collapsing to a 4-2 defeat against the new leaders, despite racing 2-0 up inside the first 15 minutes.

• It's tight up top in League One, just four points separating the top 12 after Peterborough were held 2-2 at Exeter. And further down the A38, Plymouth played with 10 men for the entire second half and still managed to beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2.

• Shrewsbury and Port Vale lead the way in League Two, winning 3-1 against Northampton and 3-0 at Macclesfield, respectively. Rotherham look menacing down in fifth spot, 4-1 winners at bottom side Barnet with Adam Le Fondre scoring. Goes without saying, really. There will be more from Underhill on the FL blog on Monday morning.
