Football League manager pictured celebrating Liverpool goal from the stands during Everton victory

Plymouth Argyle went out of the FA Cup in round two but that didn't stop manager Ryan Lowe taking part in the competition yesterday - from the stands at least.

Born in Liverpool and a former Tranmere striker, the Pilgrims' boss grew up a Red and decided to take in yesterday's fixture against Everton after leading his side to a 3-1 league victory over Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Lowe could barely contain his excitement as Curtis Jones scored what would go on to be the winning goal. BBC cameras captured the 41-year-old celebrating with son Alfie as the Reds claimed another Merseyside derby victory.

And it means more misery for Lowe's Everton supporting assistant manager Steven Schumacher. The 35-year-old, also born in Liverpool began his career with the Blues but never made an appearance for the senior side.

Lowe also attended Liverpool's Champions League final victory over Tottenham last season and attended the north west football wrtiers' awards night in Manchester where he sat on the top table with Jurgen Klopp.

He was there in recognition of leading Bury to promotion from League Two in the 2018/2019 season.
