The 30th Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in Equatorial Guinea on Saturday 17 January and we’d like to find out more about how the continent enjoys the beautiful game. Is football a favourite pastime for you and your friends, or viewed as a minority sport in your country? Where do you play? We’d like to see your pictures of Africa’s most spectacular pitches and also the pitches you play on.
We’re also interested in Africa’s fans. What team do you support and how do you follow them? Is the Africa Cup of Nations the highlight of your sporting calendar or are international fixtures more your thing? Maybe you’re going to the tournament to cheer on your national team, or perhaps you’re watching all the action on TV with family and friends?
We would also like to hear about your favourite memories and experiences of previous Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. We’ll feature the most interesting contributions on the Guardian site.
Share your photos, videos and stories of your football experiences in Africa by clicking on the blue ‘Contribute’ button on this article. You can also use the GuardianWitness smartphone app or the new Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’ – and if you add it to the homepage – you can keep up with all our new assignments.
