Football fan who punched police horse banned from games for three years

A football fan who punched a horse has been banned from attending any games for three years.

The man was found guilty of punching a police horse during a football game at Bristol Magistrates Court today (January 31).

He punched the animal, named PH Blaise, last year and has now received a football banning order for three years and over £1,000 in fines.

People who are given football banning orders are not allowed to attend any regulated matches in the UK, and they may be required to surrender their passport to the police before overseas matches and tournaments.

A tweet from Avon and Somerset's police horses account said: "A good result at Bristol Magistrates Court today!

"A male charged with punching PH Blaise during a football match last year was found guilty and convicted - he also received a football banning order for three years and over £1000 in fines".
