Football fan rushed to hospital after collapsing following Cardiff City v Huddersfield

A 62-year-old football fan was rushed to hospital following Cardiff City vs Huddersfield on Wednesday night after being taken ill.

Emergency services were called to Sloper Road shortly before 10pm, before the man was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said on Thursday: "Shortly before 10pm on Wednesday emergency services were called after a 62- year-old man from the Bromsgrove area was taken ill on Sloper Road following the Cardiff City football match against Huddersfield.

" The man was taken the the University Hospital for Wales where his condition is described as stable."

A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called on August 21 at approximately 9.49pm to reports of a medical emergency on Sloper Road, Cardiff.

"We responded with one rapid response vehicle, one emergency ambulance, and the crew were supported by two BASICS doctors."
