Football fan arrested in Madrid for 'masturbating in public and attacking police'

A football fan has been arrested in Madrid after allegedly masturbating in public and attacking police .

A clip has emerged on social media of a supporter stripped naked and apparently performing a sex act while being cheered on by the crowd.

The clip is understood to have been filmed on Friday night ahead of Saturday's Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham in Madrid.

According to Spanish newspaper El Mundo , the fan is accused of becoming violent and hitting a female tourist who was taken to hospital.

He is then alleged to have hit several police officers when they approached the accused, with six of the officers being treated at the nearby Asepeyo clinic.

Madrid Municipal Police confirmed a 33-year-old man was detained after the incident at Puerta del Sol square in the city centre on Friday night, reports The Mirror .

Five arrests were made as English fans descended on the Spanish capital the night before Liverpool's Champions League final clash against Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The police were under instruction to prevent public disorder and also devoted efforts to avoiding the resale of tickets with demand for seats in the stadium sky high and thousands of fans in the city without tickets.

The incident comes after Tottenham fans complained of being 'battered by police' in Madrid ahead of the Champions League final.

Reports of unsavoury scenes in the same Puerta del Sol area emerged with footage of the aftermath of an incident posted by a Tottenham Twitter account appearing to show one fan being struck on the back of the legs with a police baton.

The clip was accompanied with the claims: "Police in Madrid have just come into a bar and just battered about 50 Spurs fans for no reason. Many injured."

Fans have generally appeared to behave well in Spain with thousands creating a party atmosphere ahead of the huge game, despite a handful of isolated incidents now beginning to emerge.
