'Football and life' - what Nottingham Forest fans really think of coronavirus and the Championship season

Nottingham Forest’s 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship season is currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The EFL and Premier League have been postponed until April 3, at the earliest, although that could be pushed back should the authorities decide.

Meetings are ongoing, with the EFL releasing a fresh statement on Wednesday in which they said there was a determination to conclude the current season “at the appropriate time”.

Reports by Football Insider claim the season could be finished with matches played behind closed doors.

But what do Forest fans make of that? Not able to back their team in person as the Reds mount a promotion push to the Premier League.

NottinghamshireLive asked fans on Facebook and Twitter whether fans would be in favour of playing matches behind closed doors, if it meant finishing the season?

@trickytrees12: No. Finish the Season when possible.

@FOREST45152358: Don't really care, there's more to worry about than football.

@FunPhil: Yes. But there is no way the 2020-21 season will start in August so the best thing would be to postpone matches until a CV19 vaccine has been created and everyone immunised. Combine this season with next and start a new season in August 2021. (Not extreme - just realistic.)

@AdyRiley: Yes.

@Mterkowski: NO! Forget the football concentrate on us all being there next season fit & well. Renewed our season tickets looking forward to a new season!

Wez Hill: Yes finish the season so we can all move on ready for next season whichever division we end up in.

Adam Wolfe: Yes move on with football and life.

Kevin Rigley: Yes at least it would better than voiding season

Damian Virgo: Yes we need to finish it

Jim McNeil: Yes very much so ... i do think they should televise it though even if it was for a small fee and via red button.
