Three men were rescued by the Arklow and Wicklow RNLI after their fishing trawler sank on Thursday.
The coast guard was alerted to the incident when an emergency distress beacon was set off at around 3:45pm.
The men on the ship were forced to evacuate with a life raft when their trawler went up in flames.

They used the life raft to steer themselves towards a nearby vessel that had come to their aid.
One of the fishermen was airlifted to hospital while the others received medical attention on location.
A tug boat was deployed to attempt to save the boat from sinking, but it was not successful.
RNLI coxswain Ned Dillon said: “Thankfully, all three fishermen were rescued this evening and we would like to wish them all a speedy recovery following what must have been a frightening experience,"
“It is always sad to see a fishing vessel sink but we are delighted that all three fishermen are safe and recovering from their ordeal this evening.”
