Dublin's coasts have been battered today as consistent rain has poured down across the capital and heavy winds added to the chilly conditions.
A weather advisory is in place across all of Ireland which warns of "very unsettled conditions" across the island, with wet and windy conditions bringing a risk of localised flooding. Met Eireann says that it will be cold also, with wintry falls of snow and icy conditions.
A yellow warning will be in place tomorrow for Dublin with snow and ice expected.
Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has also moved to shut the East Pier to members of the public until the evening as waves overtop the walkway.
AA Roadwatch has also confirmed that the M50 is shut at the off-ramp at J11 Tallaght due to flooding on the road.
While Irish Rail added: "Services remain suspended between Booterstown and Dun Laoghaire due to flooding in the area, currently monitoring water levels. Dublin Bus honouring rail tickets."
Now footage has emerged of just how rough the Irish Sea is, as a stern warning comes from the Irish Coast Guard and RNLI.
The Coast Guard warned: "Current sea conditions on the east coast today make swimming dangerous. We already had a call for assistance this morning at Sandycove. Please don’t take any risks! Remember if you see anyone in difficultly, dial 112/999 immediately and ask for the Coast Guard."
While the Dun Laoghaire RNLI added: "Conditions along our coast today are very dangerous in relation to swimming and bathing. Our crew have had one call out this morning already by the Irish Coast Guard. We would see the conditions today as being too dangerous to enter the sea for recreation and we would advise everyone to please stay on dry land and be safe."
