Footage captured the moment a man on a scrambler bike was deliberately hit by a police car. Owen Jameson, 19, raced the bike along a road in Prescot on March 7, 2023, and was seen doing a wheelie.
The dashcam footage from the police car shows Jameson speeding on the bike. Jameson, disqualified from driving after a previous offence, was clocked by cops who then pursued, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Merseyside Police, shared the video, showing officers chasing Jameson as he sped away. He pulled up alongside a mum and child who were walking on the pavement and, as a "tactical move", officers knocked Jameson off the bike.
The teen can be seen getting back up and going towards the motor before rethinking and running away. An officer then gives chase on foot. Jameson, from Huyton, performed wheelies, at speed for around 100 metres, veering towards pedestrians.
He was later arrested at his home the following day, and found to have cannabis in his possession. The teen was charged with driving offences and a firearm offence from last year
On March 8, 2022, police executed a warrant on Wilson Road in Prescot and searched the alleyway. They gained access to a rear garden shed and officers found a gun wrapped in black bin bags.
The Beretta double-barrelled shotgun was loaded with two cartridges. Jameson and multiple other people's DNA was located on the trigger and the grip.
After being arrested in March, Jameson pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, possession of cannabis, possession of a shortened shotgun without a licence, dangerous driving and driving without insurance. The teen was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, April 12, after appearing on video link from HMP Altcourse, where he has been on remand since March.

Representing Jameson, John Rowan emphasised his young age and said he was doing well in custody, and had engaged in English and Maths lessons with the aim of working in Altcourse's engineering department.
He continued that Jameson suffered from anxiety and panic attacks, saying his client had suffered a bruise on the brain having been kicked in the head, and also pointed to Jameson's early guilty plea.
Jameson, who has six previous convictions for 11 offences, was sentenced to 18 months in a young offenders' institution and banned from driving for 20 months.
Sentencing, Mr Recorder Lamb told him: "In this case, the appropriate punishment can only be achieved by an immediate custodial sentence".
