Footage shows moment garda cars, vans and helicopter storm Dublin halting site in raid

This is the shocking moment as many as 15 garda cars, vans and even a helicopter were deployed to the scene of a raid at a halting site in north Dublin.

Gardai rushed to the scene, which was closed off as part of a massive ongoing operation at an encampment in the Darndale/Clarehall area.

The planned raid took place on a site near Belcamp Lane across from Clarehall Shopping Centre that started shortly before 1pm.

A huge security presence is still at the scene and Garda dogs are also being used during the operation.

A source at the scene told Dublin Live: "This was a planned raid and no arrests have been made."

Though the two incidents are not connected, today's raid is taking place just metres away from where a getaway bike was found after small time Darndale drug dealer Jordan Davis was shot dead in May last year.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "There is an ongoing Garda operation in the area.

"For operational reasons, no further information is available at this time."
