Footage shows Mike Pence protesters grooving to ABBA's Dancing Queen with rainbow flags outside Dail Eireann

Footage shows Mike Pence protesters dancing outside Dail Eireann waving LGBTI flags and banners to celebrate those 'hurt' by the US Administration.

Protesters organised a 'disco' in front of the Dail during US Vice President Mike Pence's state visit to Ireland to celebrate "all the people that Pence and Trump's cruel policies are hurting".

Colm O'Gorman of Amnesty International Ireland said: "We want to celebrate all the people that Pence and Trump's cruel policies are hurting; women, refugees, migrants, and LGBTI people."

The protesters could be seen dancing to ABBA's hit song Dancing Queen while waving banners and rainbow flags.

One placard read, "Abortion is not a crime" while others held "We stand against racism" signs.

The 'disco at the Dail' follows protests at Shannon Airport where Co Clare poet Sarah Clancy was stopped by Gardai over her signs which read: “No fáilte for fascists” and “Queers against Pence”.

During his state visit, Mr Pence met with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and President Michael D. Higgins in Phoenix Park .

He was speaking after a ‘family lunch’ between the Pence and Varadkar's families - including the partner of Mr Varadkar, Matt Barrett.

Mr Pence’s mother, Nancy, was also at the lunch along with Mr Varadkar’s own mother and father.

It led Mr Pence to joke that the two politicians had one thing in common, they were both blessed with Irish mothers.
