Footage shows massive garda car chase as vehicles speed through north Dublin

A high-speed car chase wound its way through Dublin tonight.

A large number of garda vehicles responded to the incident, with locals from Finglas all the way to East Wall noticing a huge presence this evening.

Social media footage showed a blue Honda Accord racing ahead of officers and rounding corners at dangerous speed.

Gardai have been stopping cars in a number of areas, while a helicopter was also deployed.

Locals have reported their vehicles being stopped as officers try to prevent collisions, Dublin Live reports.

So far activity has been reported on Casement Road, Glenhill, and on Clonliffe Road.

The chase ran from Finglas and through Ballymun, Drumcondra, and East Wall.

Three men in total were arrested in relation to the incident tonight.

One was detained on train tracks between Connolly and Clontarf.

Irish Rail services were suspended for a time to allow gardai to access the tracks.

Footage later showed a man being led away by officers.
