Footage shows large queues at Notts McDonald's as more drive-thrus reopen

Large queues have been forming at McDonald's restaurants across Nottinghamshire as the fast-food chain announced more drive-thrus would be reopening.

Both drive-thrus at Chilwell and Hucknall reopened today (June 4) and numerous vehicles can be seen piling up as people queue to get their fix.

McDonald's security personnel are also stationed at the restaurant in Chilwell Retail Park, just off Nottingham Road.

Yesterday, June 3, queues formed as hundreds of people flocked back to restaurants across the county.

At around 3pm, Nottinghamshire Police had to block off access to the site off Castle Bridge Road, near Castle Marina, to enforce traffic calming measures.

Notts Police also had to deal with tailbacks on the A1 at East Markham, Radford Road, Leen Drive and Nuthall Road during the day.

The first in the county to reopen was at Markham Moor roundabout, Retford.

Drive-thru lanes were back up and running at the fast food restaurants at Castle Marina, Nuthall Road, Valley Road, Victoria Retail Park, Arnold, Bulwell, Clifton and Radcliffe Road, West Bridgford.

A limited menu and opening hours are also in place, meaning there is no breakfasts or milkshakes.

Big Macs, Quarter Pounders, cheeseburgers, Filet-O-Fish and Chicken McNuggets remain on the menu, while vegetarians have a choice of Veggie Dippers and Vegetable Deluxe.

Fries, Mozzarella Dippers and McFlurry with Oreo, Maltesters and Smarties are also available to buy along with drinks including coffee, tea, fizzy drinks, wate and orange juice.

Happy Meals with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, nuggets and Veggie Dippers are available for children.

Drive-thrus are currently open from 11am until 10pm.
