It may be one of the hottest days of the year with glorious sunshine beaming down from the blue skies but one north Dublin town fond itself flooded this afternoon.
Motorists in Skerries found themselves driving through floods after a water mains burst earlier today.
Footage taken earlier this afternoon shows water seeping out from several points on the road.
Large puddles can be seen gathering on the edges of the road while cars can be seen driving through a quagmire on the steet.
A spokeswoman for Irish Water said the utility is working with Fingal County Council to repair the fault and expects customers in the area to be affected by outages until around 8pm.
She added: "It is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing. It may take 2-3 hours for normal water supply to return to all customers.
"Irish Water and Fingal County Council understands the inconvenience caused when emergency works occur and thanks customers for their patience while we complete these essential works and restore normal supply to impacted customers.
"Irish Water and Fingal County Council regret any inconvenience caused.
"Irish Water is working at this time, with our local authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of drinking water and wastewater services."
