A road closure has been put in place by police after a crash in Northumberland.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on North Road in Ponteland at just after 9am.
Officers from Northumbria Police have closed North Road in both directions between Berwick Hill Road and Kirkley Hall with traffic being diverted away from the area.
A spokesperson said on Twitter: "Due to a collision on North Road in Ponteland the road is currently closed.
"Diversions are in place but please avoid the area if possible.
"Northbound, traffic is being diverted onto Berwick Hill Road.
"Southbound, the road is closed from around Kirkley Hall."
A spokesperson from North East Ambulance Service said they have also attended the incident.
They said: "We were called at 9.33am to reports of a road traffic collision on North Road in Ponteland.
"We dispatched a double-crewed ambulance."
