Footage emerges of Celtic and Rangers fans clashing outside of Hampden Park

Footage has emerged of Celtic and Rangers supporters clashing outside Hampden Park ahead of the Scottish League Cup.

Celtic ran out 2-1 winners on the day but there were ugly scenes before the game.

Footage emerged on social media of fans clashing with the incident happening around 9 am.

The supporters, mostly dressed in black, began shouting and chasing each other near the burger stalls as they came to blows.

Traffic cones could be seen being thrown as a number of police officers tried to control the melee.

Punches were thrown between the sets of supporters as one person hit the floor before appearing to be kicked by a number of others.

A large group then runs off down Somerville Drive in the direction of Brownlie Street as the second group gives chase.

In another clip police could be seen parked at the bottom of Brownlie Street as the sets of supporters appeared to become separated.

A group dressed in black, with some wearing red white and blue hats, shout and cheer as the chase appears to come to an end.
