Footage captures the moment police skillfully trap a burglary suspect as he tried to flee on the M60

This footage captures the brilliant moment police officers deftly apprehend a burglary suspect as he tried to flee on the motorway.

A team of specialist officers covertly followed a car that had been reported stolen after a burglary in Stockport, as it sped along the M60.

The footage shows two unmarked cars and three other police vehicles manoeuvre around the side and in front of the vehicle until it was forced to slow down, eventually bringing it to a halt on the central reservation.

The incident happened at around 1.35pm on Friday.

The driver – a 26-year-old man - was arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

The arrest forms part of Operation Dynamo – an intelligence-led operation that has seen officers crack down on car thefts across areas of Greater Manchester.
