Footage captures smash that led to firefighters rescuing pair from damaged vehicle

Dashcam footage captured a crash that led to firefighters cutting a roof from a car to rescue two injured people inside.

This was the moment two cars collided on Dunnings Bridge Road - with one of the vehicles then hitting a third nearby.

The crash led to four people being taken to hospital, though no-one is thought to have been seriously injured.

The drivers of all three vehicles, as well as a passenger, required medical attention after the incident, which left debris scattered across the carriageway.

The collision happened at the junction with Park Lane, close to the Park Hotel, in Netherton and involved a blue Audi estate, a black Ford Galaxy MPV and a black Audi Q3.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service all had patrols and crews in attendance.

Travel monitoring service Inrix reported: "Dunnings Bridge Road in both directions partially blocked, queuing traffic due to accident, three cars involved at Park Lane.

"Several emergency services on the scene and caller reports traffic is slowly getting past the scene."

The incident caused congestion for several hours amid efforts to removed the damaged vehicles from the scene.
