Food For London Now: We’re so grateful for Felix Project, say victims who fled abuse

Victims of domestic violence today thanked our campaign partner the Felix Project for supporting them as they started their new lives in London.

A resident of the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation’s refuge in west London said: “Felix delivers us food every week which helps me not struggle. I left all my clothes at my ex-husband’s house.”

The Iranian woman, who fled her home for her own safety a few weeks ago, is one of eight people living in the shelter, which specialises in counselling for vulnerable women from the Middle East and Afghanistan.

Women are referred to the shelter after fleeing dangerous situations, with many residents escaping honour-based violence, forced marriage, FGM and domestic abuse.
