Food For London Now: Bid for a day with the lions or a trip to Daylesford in charity auction

Bidders have the opportunity to bag an exclusive VIP family safari day at Longleat

The Quintessentially Foundation has launched a silent auction in aid of our appeal to tackle food poverty in London.

All proceeds raised will go towards our partner, The Felix Project, which collects and deliver surplus food to homeless charities and refuges, and The Childhood Trust, an organisation focused on helping deprived children.

Lots include a two-night stay for two at Daylesford Organic Farm, including a treatment at its spa and a tasting menu with wine pairings.

Other auction lots include a training session with celebrity performance coach— and Boris Johnson’s personal trainer — Harry Jameson at the Rosewood Hotel, a Heal’s interior planning consultation with a £2,000 gift card and a  masterclass with photographer Enzo Barracco.

Bidders also have the opportunity to bag an exclusive VIP family safari day at Longleat, which includes a 4x4 tour with an expert ranger. Another prize is a week-long trip for four to Scotland, with a round of golf at  Gleneagles.

The winning bidder will also be able to try clay pigeon shooting and archery. The 64 lots are live and open for bidding on the foundation’s website until December 10.

Quintessentially Foundation co-founder Ben Elliot said: “As you can imagine, it has not been an easy year for charities. During the Covid-19 crisis, both charities have been needed more than ever to provide vital support for disadvantaged Londoners who are struggling with poverty, hunger, homelessness, stress, loneliness and anxiety.”

He added: “The festive period provides the perfect opportunity for us to reach an increased number of people and in turn support even more Londoners in the difficult winter ahead.”

Let’s Feed London Now!

This November and December, together with our sister title The Independent, we will be delivering food directly to 1,000 Londoners a day through our partner With Compassion. Please donate here to help ensure no Londoner goes hungry this Christmas.

Tonight Stephen Fry will host the foundation’s annual concert, the Fayre of St James’s, which this year is online. Tickets for the event cost £30 from  events.tapsimple.org/event/quintessentially-foundation/fayre-of-st-james-2020.

The foundation hopes to raise £250,000 for the two charities from the auction and concert. Bid on the auction at app.galabid.com/fosj/items.
