Food discounts restaurants offer to students at Eldon Square in Newcastle

Students are returning to Newcastle for Freshers week and the new term.

For many, it will be there first time living in and enjoying Newcastle.

They will also be meeting new people, making new friends or - for returning students - catching up pals they made last year.

Many restaurants in Eldon Square offer student discounts, of up to 50% off food. Some discounts only apply to NUS members. Northumbria University's student union is affiliated to the NUS, but Newcastle University is not.

Other deals require students to get codes from UNiDAYs .
