Food chain

Had lunch with the lovely Jane from Fern Verrow yesterday. She was on a rare midweek trip to town to make her debut TV appearance with Matthew Fort and Tom Parker Bowles on UK Food Channel's Kitchen Market (to be shown next week, Monday 15th, I think). Now Jane is something of a deep-thinking soul not normally to be found in the shallow pool of La La Land. But she is on telly to promote the Biodynamic Food Fortnight, which is launched at Borough Market on Saturday by Michel Roux of double-Michelin-starred London restaurant, Le Gavroche.

Jane's stall at Borough (above) will be joined by all manner of other specialists including cheeses from Old Plaw Hatch Dairy and apples from Tablehurst Orchard. The day will also include wine tastings and talks from, among others, Heritage Prime farm in Dorset who will be hosting farm walks and other events throughout the fortnight. There will be more biodynamic stalls at other London farmers markets including Primrose Hill and Notting Hill and a range of events over the fortnight and all over the country from Totnes to Inverness. See you there, I hope.
