Aug. 26--The Cubs have been rocking Wrigley Field lately and now Billy Joel and Foo Fighters are up to bat.
Joel will perform Thursday at 8 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. This is Joel's fourth concert at Wrigley. He performed solo in 2014 and twice in 2009 with Elton John.
Foo Fighters will play a sold-out show Saturday. Opening acts Cheap Trick, Naked Raygun and Urge Overkill will start performing at 5:30 p.m. Gates open at 3:30 p.m.
There is an 11 p.m. curfew for Wrigley concerts but in 2013, Pearl Jam was allowed to play past 11 p.m. after a thunderstorm caused an evacuation.
The Tribune breaks down the logistics of the two Wrigley concerts, from tickets to street closures to parking.
Tickets
Joel tickets were available through the Cubs website for as cheap as $66, including tax, on Tuesday night. Ticket availability at the Cubs box office will be determined by online sales, Cubs spokesman Julian Green said.
Joel tickets start at $47 on StubHub, while Foo Fighters tickets start at $119.25 on StubHub, based on a Tribune search Tuesday night.
Setup
Sound and lighting checks are anticipated to occur Wednesday and Friday and will be completed by 10 p.m., according to a Cubs news release. Sound checks also may be held on concert days.
Wrigley Field lights are expected to be on for extended periods until Sunday for concert setup and cleanup.
The Cubs Hotline (1-866-427-3869) will be open to address non-emergency issues one hour before the concerts begin until two hours after the concerts end.
Crews will patrol Wrigleyville streets for three hours following each show to help monitor crowds, according to the Cubs.
Street closures
Sheffield Avenue will be closed from Addison Street to Waveland Avenue until Monday but the sidewalk on the east side of the street will remain open.
Waveland will be closed from Sheffield to Kenmore Avenue until Monday but the sidewalk on the north side of the street will remain open.

The closest CTA rail station is the Addison Red Line stop next to Wrigley Field. The No. 22-Clark, No. 36-Broadway and No. 152-Addison buses stop by the ballpark. The transit agency has not yet announced if there will be additional rail or bus service for the concerts.
No valet service for bike drop-offs is listed for either show on the Divvy bike-sharing website.
Parking
The Cubs remote parking lot, at 3900 N. Rockwell St., will be open during both concerts. There will be a free round-trip bus between the ballpark and the parking lot.
