Fontaines DC tickets for Belfast show set to be snapped up in minutes

Ireland's hottest new band are on their way to Belfast - and tickets are likely be snapped up in minutes.

Punk rockers Fontaines DC have earned five-star reviews for their debut album Dogrel and are fresh from a US tour that took in a jaw-dropping performance on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.

The Dublin five-piece - whose angry, politically-charged lyrics and punchy guitars have wowed fans and critics across Ireland and Britain - are among the headliners of the Left Field stage at Glastonbury next month.

And it looks as if it’s just a matter of time before they’re playing on the biggest stages. When Dogrel was released last month, NME said they’ve “gone from could-be to already-nailing-it in the blink of an eye” and insisted: “Yes, you do need to see them, ASAP.”

Songs such as Boys From The Better Land and Big have nods to The Fall, The Strokes and even The Velvet Underground but is distinctly and unashamedly Irish - frontman Grian Chatten’s urgent rasp, Dub by way of Co Kildare, sees to that.

Fontaines DC play the Empire Music Hall on Thursday, December 12, and tickets go on sale on Tuesday, June 4, at 9am. Be quick - you might not get to see them at a venue this size again...
