The NFL is back and training camp - already three weeks old - is in full swing as the league’s 32 teams prepare for what looks to be an exciting season. For the New York Jets (10-6 in 2015) this campaign is all about one thing: overtaking the Patriots in the AFC East, and if there ever was a time to do it it’s this year. Bill Belichick will be without Tom Brady for the first four games of the season as the star quarterback finally bit the bullet and accepted his Deflategate suspension. For Todd Bowles this is a perfect opportunity for New York as they can fully benefit from a weakened New England and on paper they have the right pieces to make it a reality.
Aside from a core set of experienced players such as Ryan Fitzpatrick, Darrelle Revis and Brandon Marshall, the Jets have a group of rookies that could make some noise. Players like Darron Lee - their first draft pick - and Jordan Jenkins are hoping to contribute immediately as the season begins. Others such as Jalin Marshall - the undrafted wide-receiver from Ohio State - hope to get noticed as they transition into the professional game.
