Folk art is like a sea & there is a lot to learn: Folklore expert Kalegowda Nagavara in Mysuru

MYSURU: Folklore expert Kalegowda Nagavara on Tuesday described folk art as a sea and added that there is a lot to learn from it.

Speaking at the valedictory of a theatre training workshop organised by Gauthama Shikshana and Samskruthika Seva Trust and the department of Kannada and culture at Kiru Rangamandir in Kalamandira here, he claimed folk artistes are wise despite having less knowledge in languages. “One of the messages and greatness of folk art is that people should live together,” he said. “Buddha was an admirer of folklore,” the expert claimed.

Kannada and culture department joint director VN Mallikarjuna Swamy, assistant director MD Sudharshan and Gauthama education trust founder Krishnamurthy Talakad were present.
