This weekend, London’s newest late night clubbing institution, FOLD, presents a major night of electro and techno. The floor will be shaking in Canning Town — thanks to its secluded location and excellent sound-proofing, the club has the loudest sound system in the capital, reaching up to 110 decibels.
The line-up is an exciting one. DMX Krew has been described as 'rave royalty' and runs two record labels, Breakin’ Records and Fresh Up. The DJ, who was featured on Craig Richards' final Fabric 100 mix and has recently been announced for Love International festival, plays both experimental tracks and dancefloor fillers. He guarantees a charged set on Friday.
Elsewhere, Solid Blake and Mama Snake will be playing b2b. They did likewise at Dekmantel festival in August and it was an undeniable festival highlight. Solid Blake is a talented DJ/producer from Glasgow and a prominent figure on the thriving Copenhagen techno scene where she is based. Mama Snake is another power woman in the industry, renowned for her mix of alternative techno and modern electro. She recently smashed a Boiler Room set, leaving quite an impression.
Expect something different when it comes to Metrist. The young Brighton producer has been described as a "true techno explorer" and will be closing the night with some twisted beats at 10pm.
Prepare yourself for a long night, as the music will play well into the following day.
