Folarin Balogun's 'complicated' Arsenal situation explained amid talk of RB Leipzig agreement

Arsenal wonderkid Folarin Balogun has not agreed a deal with RB Leipzig.

That's according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano who has refuted claims from Football Insider, that the teenager has agreed a pre-contract to join the Bundesliga side when his contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in the summer.

Furthermore, Romano has explained the Arsenal youngster's 'complicated' situation.

Firstly, RB Leipzig have not made an official bid to sign Balogun who has received more than 15 offers, but is stalling on a new deal with the Gunners as he wants to play first-team football.

Just last week, Gunners manager Mikel Arteta revealed why Balogun is yet to pen fresh terms.

"Well, you need three parties to make a deal," he said. "For sure the club wants to make a deal, the manager wants to make a deal, and I'm not sure about the agent.

"I'm not saying he’s stopping it’s that we need to find an agreement with him," he said. "We are negotiating at the end with an agent, with a player that wants to stay at the club and we need to find agreement.

"I’m telling you that we are doing everything we can to keep him here.

"And hopefully from the other part they’re doing the same and defending the same interest which is the player’s interests which is to stay at the club and be successful with us."

The 19-year-old made quite the impression in the Europa League group phase this season, scoring twice and registering an assist in three substitute appearances.

Although, he's yet to make an appearance in the Premier League and didn't make the matchday squad for last weekend's FA Cup third-round tie at home to Newcastle United.

That snub prompted some fans to predict an exit for the striker between now and June.

Amid links to the likes of Emi Buendia and Julian Brandt, it's becoming quite clear that the Gunners need to resolve Balogun's future one way or another this month.

In addition to RB Leipzig, the teenager has also been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool.

But for a move to the Reds to materialise, Jurgen Klopp's side would have to agree a fee with the Gunners this month or wait until June to sign him on a free.
