Some flights have been delayed by up to 45 minutes from leaving Canberra Airport.

Among the flights to be cancelled include a Qantas flight to Melbourne, as well as a flight from Melbourne to Canberra later in the day.

Most of the fog over the airport had cleared after 8am, but the delays earlier in the morning had caused flow-on effects for later flights.

The Bureau of Meteorology says the rest of the day should be partly cloudy, with a light winds in the middle of the day and a top of 16 degrees.
