Manchester City look set to welcome back most of their injured players and even received some good news about long-term absentee Ferran Torres.
Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus missed City's defeat at RB Leipzig with minor knocks, while Phil Foden and Nathan Ake were replaced in that game as a precaution after picking up issues themselves.
Kevin De Bruyne played most of the game as he made his first start after contracting and recovering from Covid, while Kyle Walker, John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan all started after recent injury concerns of their own.
Pep Guardiola says the injured players will be assessed on Friday ahead of the visit of Wolves, although Laporte and Jesus were pictured in the gym with other fit first-teamers on Wednesday so would be expected to be fine.
Ferran Torres, City's only long-term absentee, posted an update to Instagram this week of him back training outside at the City Football Academy, suggesting his recovery is progressing well.
We've rounded up the state of City's injury list and looked at when each player could return:
Kevin De Bruyne
The Belgian made it through 87 minutes of the Leipzig defeat, despite Pep Guardiola predicted he might only play 60 minutes before the game.
De Bruyne may need longer to reach full fitness than others, but appears to be off the injury list having successfully navigated his first start back.
Phil Foden
Foden was replaced at half-time of City's Champions League defeat on Tuesday as a precaution, and Guardiola suggested he would be touch-and-go for the Premier League clash with Wolves on Saturday due to his ankle problem.
Guardiola said of Foden: "He still has a niggle but every time he plays he will get better and better. He will say how he feels. Knowing Phil he'll want to be there for us so we'll see, game-by-game."
Possible return date: December 11
Nathan Ake
Like Foden, Guardiola said Ake would be assessed over Friday and Saturday to determine his involvement against Wolves. Ake was seen holding his back towards the end of the game against Leipzig and was quickly replaced.
On Friday, Guardiola said of his injured players, including Ake: "We will assess this afternoon at training."
Possible return date: December 11
Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus
Both missed the Leipzig trip as a precaution due to minor knocks, but were both seen joining other first-teamers in the gym on Wednesday as part of a recovery session. That would indicate they are fine to return, although Guardiola's update that all injured players would be assessed on Friday applies to Laporte and Jesus as well.
Possible return date: December 11
Ferran Torres
The winger, linked with Barcelona, injured his foot on international duty in October and has not featured since. He has undergone treatment and City had said he would not be expected back until the new year.
This week, Torres posted an encouraging update as he published a picture of himself in City training gear kicking a ball at the CFA. He accompanied the post with the caption: 'Soon', indicating his recovery is progressing well.
Possible return date: January
