Focus shifts to BCCI AGM after unveiling of the new NCA

BENGALURU: The new National Cricket Academy's official inauguration was a low-key affair on Saturday evening, with the focus now shifting to the board's AGM on Sunday noon. An 18-point agenda will be up for discussion at the AGM.

What has been much talked about but is not officially listed is the succession plan for secretary Jay Shah, who takes over as ICC chairman on December 1.

The names of DDCA chief Rohan Jaitley, Ashish Shelar, the board's treasurer, and IPL chairman Arun Dumal have been doing the rounds but like in the past, some dark horses may also emerge.

Among the appointments that will come up during the AGM is that of the IPL governing council members. CAB's Avishek Dalmiya and Dhumal are likely to be elected unopposed to the IPL GC, while V Chamundeswaranath is set to continue in his current role as the nominee of the Indian Cricketers' Association.
