Elite sportswomen Kelsey Griffin, Erin McKinnon and Sera Naiqama will headline an event for aspiring sportswomen at Hunter Sports High on Tuesday night.

Local businesses have come together to organise the night which is being held for a third time and is open to high school girls.

Organiser and busineswoman Kylie Frearson said the theme for this year's panel would be teamwork and team values in sport.

"We want young girls to have role models," Frearson said.

"We want young girls to see and feel what they can become, ask questions, hear about resilience and challenges they face in their sport.

"The age group between 12 and 17 has the biggest fall-out rate of female players in sport and, whether they become professional athletes or not, there's lots to say in the business community that girls who play sport for a longer period of time have better success in their career."

Attendees will be able to ask questions of McKinnon, Griffin and Naiqama on the night. Naiqama plays rugby for the NSW Waratahs and the Wallaroos, McKinnon plays AFLW for the GWS Giants and Kelsey Griffin plays basketball for the University of Canberra Capitals in the WNBL and has been in the Opals squad.

"It will be a Q&A panel," Frearson said. "We ask a few questions first on team challenges and then we hand over to the girls.

"Tickets are $5 each and all of the money raised through ticket sales goes back into sponsorship to a girl in the room on the night to use towards their sport.

"We get them to write a paragraph on what they took away from the event and we select the best paragraph."

The event is a collaboration of local businesses Jenkins Legal Services, Smartline, Property Solutions 101, The Marketing GP and Sporting Chance Collective.

"We want to inspire these girls to continue with their sporting pathway to show them that it is achievable," Frearson said.
