Flybe Edinburgh passengers left stranded after the airline cancels dozens of flights across the UK

Edinburgh passengers flying with Flybe have been left stranded after the airline cancelled dozen of flights across the UK, including many departing from major Scottish airports.

Flybe have put the delays and cancellations down to "operational reasons" but are yet to give customers any further explanation for their travel woes.

In the capital, the 8.40am service to Cardiff, which was expected to depart at 9.45am, arrived at 11.05am.

Elsewhere, the 9.55am from Birmingham won’t touch down until 11.30am.

Cancelled Edinburgh Airport flights include:

  • 10.20am flight to Manchester

  • 10.50am to Birmingham

  • 9.20am service from Southampton

  •  12.15pm from Manchester

  • 12.40pm from Birmingham

In a statement, Flybe said: "All customers affected have been emailed and advised they can re-book for travel on an alternative flight or apply for a full refund."
