Flybe Dublin Airport: Cancellations for flight departures and arrivals as struggling airline collapses

Dublin Airport flights operated by UK airline Flybe have been cancelled after the airline collapsed into administration overnight.

The Exeter airline had been struggling in recent months due to financial difficulties.

But a worldwide fall in flight bookings and passenger numbers due to the spreading coronavirus was the final nail in the coffin for the troubled travel company, Dublin Live reports.

At 3am this morning, a statement was issued on the company's website confirming its collapse and the loss of over 2,000 jobs.

The airline operated three routes out of Dublin Airport, connecting the capital with Cardiff, Exeter and Southampton.

Belfast Airport is expected to be badly impacted by the collapse as Flybe operated 14 routes from the Northern Ireland air hub.

A statement issued the Flybe website reads: "Flybe entered Administration on 5 March 2020 and Alan Hudson, Joanne Robinson, Lucy Winterborne and Simon Edel of EY have been appointed as Joint Administrators.

All flights have been grounded and the UK business has ceased trading with immediate effect."

Here's what to do if you're effected by the collapse of Flybe:
