Flybe cancels flights because of operational reasons

Airline Flybe has cancelled dozens of flights due to what it described as "operational reasons".

The cancellations have affected airports around the UK including Cardiff.

Four flights from Birmingham Airport have been cancelled and five from Belfast City Airport.

Other flights from Belfast, Southampton, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Bordeaux have also been affected.

Cardiff Airport has so far been notified of two cancellations: the 5.15pm flight to Verona and the 7.15pm from Verona.

How to claim your expenses back on a delayed or cancelled flight

It's the second time this week that Flybe has experienced problems. On Monday, passengers on a new route were left with a six-hour alternative journey when the aircraft was grounded.

The 6.40pm service from Newquay to Heathrow could not take off on Sunday because of a "technical issue".

Cornwall Airport Newquay said passengers were offered "rebooking for another flight or ground transport to London Heathrow".
