‘Flyadeal’ Set to Focus on Flights to Saudi Tourism Projects

Saudi airline ‘Flyadeal’ braces for unlocking international flights to new Arab destinations soon (Asharq Al-Awsat)

Saudi Arabia’s “Flyadeal,” a low-cost airline owned by the flag carrier Saudia, revealed it would be drafting strategic plans for boosting the connectivity of air transport to tourist destinations and mega projects in the Kingdom.

Moreover, the airliner is also working to open its flights to new regional destinations in different Arab countries.

New domestic flights bound for two local airports inside the Kingdom will start operating in the coming days, Flyadeal Commercial CEO Ahmed Al-Barahim told Asharq Al-Awsat.

According to Al-Barahim, the two new internal flights were unlocked to match the demand driven up by the summer tourism program launched by the Saudi Ministry of Tourism.

Flyadeal is also eyeing the launch of flights and having a base at NEOM, a cross-border city with a “great future,” revealed Al-Barahim.

Soon, the economic airliner will also be flying to other tourist destinations in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Barahim indicated that over 28 airports Kingdom-wide hold great potential for Flyadeal.

“There is ongoing communication with the Ministry of Tourism and relevant authorities to work on operating flights that fit tourism seasons, whether they are during summer or winter,” noted Al-Barahim.

“We are keen on becoming the aviation partner of authorities concerned with the tourism sector in the Kingdom,” he confirmed.

As for international flights, Al-Barahim revealed that the company is “currently studying the setting up of new stations abroad after it having successfully launched its first flights to Dubai at the start of July 2021.”

“Flights to Arab countries will be opened soon,” he revealed.

In the coming phase, the company will expand Dubai flights from Riyadh and launch new flights from Jeddah.

Al-Barahim pointed out that Flyadeal’s plans, which are committed to the business model of low-cost flying, are aligned with “the aviation strategy approved by authorities.”

More so, the CEO highlighted that Flyadeal launching its very first international flight constitutes a milestone and fundamental addition to the local and regional aviation industry.
