The Kirkcaldy sky was filled with balloons to pay tribute to Fife NHS nurse Shannon Napier, who sadly passed away after giving birth to her first daughter.
In an incredible video shared online, hundreds of pink balloons were released into the sky at the same time to honour the popular NHS nurse.
Shannon had been looking forward to becoming a mum for the first time with her fiancee Jordan, but her life was tragically cut short.
Hundreds of people turned out for the moving send-off which was organised for the dedicated NHS nurse by her childhood friend Shannon Ross.
Shannon Ross paid a tribute to her friend saying: "Everyone is going to miss you Shannon
"From knowing you when we were kids to the young NHS nurse that you became, I will never forget you and I will never understand how life can be so cruel!
"Thank you to everyone who took part Shannon would have loved it,
"Also thank you to Dean Saunders who thankfully played the pipes, both Shannon's fave songs as well."
The young woman's partner and new father Jordan said that he was incredibly grateful for the tribute.
He said: "Thanks once again to Shannon Ross for organising this amazing tribute for Shannon Napier yesterday evening.
"We all love and miss you so much princess. Until we meet again.... "
