'Fly high James' Touching tributes pour in for much-loved Ayrshire man after sudden death

Emotional tributes have been paid to a man who suddenly died this week.

James Pollock, who was the managing director at Q Car Parts in Irvine, was found dead in Kilwinning on Monday aged 39.

And the North Ayrshire community has been left devastated after the death of a well-known businessman.

Irvine AFC posted a tribute on their Facebook saying: "Absolutely gutted to hear of the passing of a friend of the club.

"James, or Cecil as he was better known, was a very big part of our club having continued to sponsor and support us from the very first day we formed as a club in 2011.

"A kinder more generous person you will never meet and someone who would go out their way to help anyone in the community.

"Rest easy sir, a lot of people will be hurting.

"From everyone connected with our club we give our condolences and best wishes to James's family at this sad time."

And tributes were posted on to North Ayrshire Darts Academy's (NADA) Facebook page.

One said: "It is with great sadness on learning of the sad passing of James Pollock.

"James was a vital cog in sponsoring the Academy during the initial start up way back in 2014, without the likes of James the academy might not excist.

"James was always happy to help for any further sponsorship when asked.

"His sponsored board (Q Parts) at the academy will always be testimony of his generosity, not just to the academy, but to many many other community projects.

"Thank you James, rest in peace sir. Taken far to early wee pal."

Another said: "James's board will always have pride of place at NADA.

"Thank you for all the help you have given us over the years James and most recently supporting us with our Cash For Kids Fundraiser.

"Rest in Peace."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Kilwinning were called to reports of a sudden death of a 39-year-old man in Alexandra Gardens around 4pm on Monday, February 24, 2020.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
