Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr looks set to meet YouTube sensation Logan Paul in a money-spinning “special exhibition” fight next year.

On Sunday night, both men shared links on social media to a Fanmio page confirming the bout would take place on Fanmio pay-per-view on February 20, 2021, with Paul tweeting: “It’s official.”

Undefeated former five-weight, 15-time world champion Mayweather initially retired from boxing in 2015 after defeating Andre Berto to equal the great Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 professional record.

However, in 2017 he returned to defeat UFC superstar Conor McGregor in a lucrative crossover event in Las Vegas, while in 2018 he secured a first-round stoppage of Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Saitama.

Meanwhile, internet personality and actor Paul initially fought fellow YouTubers Joe Weller and KSI in white collar amateur matches before making his professional debut against the latter in November 2019, losing a split decision at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Paul’s younger brother Jake has also turned to pro boxing, beating another YouTuber in AnEsonGib earlier in 2020 and then producing a similarly emphatic early stoppage of former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s eight-round exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr last weekend.
