Floyd Mayweather sends message after best boxers of all time are announced

Floyd Mayweather has sent a message to his boxing rivals after finishing top of a list of the greatest fighters of all time.

The 42-year-old beat the likes of Muhammad Ali , Sugar Ray Robinson, and Rocky Marciano to be crowned the greatest.

And he even ranked one ahead of close foe Manny Pacquiao in second.

Speculation continues to link the pair with a rematch, but Mayweather was keen to highlight his impressive record.

Never one to shy away from arrogance, Mayweather took straight to social media after the announcement by BoxRec.

"Numbers don't lie and boxrec told the truth. It is what is is," he said.

Mayweather is still unbeaten from his professional career which spanned 50 bouts.

Pacquaio meanwhile has fought 12 times more than his adversary, but has lost on seven occasions, and drawn twice.

His losses include one against Mayweather from their eagerly-anticipated 2015 clash, which the American won on points.

A follow-up contest continues to be teased, following Pacquiao's impressive win over Keith Thurman - who is 10 years his junior.

Sugar Ray Leonard - who ranked 15th on the all-time list, said the rematch should be made.

"It'd be a great fight. Put it this way, it should be done," Leonard told TMZ Sports .

"In a crazy way, it would (help boxing). People would watch it."

Both fighters are now in their forties, with Mayweather two years older, but Leonard thinks this will make the fight even more of a spectacle.

"It's two guys in their 40s. When I was 40, I came back, I don't know who it was against, but you had a different stage in your life, spiritually, physically, mentally," he added.

"He (Pacquiao) looked phenomenal (in his last fight)."

Pacquiao's resurgence is said to be driving Mayweather "bonkers" and UFC president Dana White believes a rematch is only a matter of time.

"He’s awesome. I think it’s incredible (what Pacquiao is doing)," White told Fight Hub TV.

"I think him and Floyd [in a rematch] is probably inevitable. It's probably going to happen."
