Floyd Mayweather's dad has a violent message for Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor has already lost to one member of the Mayweather family - now another one is on his case.

The former UFC champion lost to Floyd Mayweather two years ago on his professional boxing debut.

And just after the anniversary of the defeat, Floyd Snr took a pot shot at the Irishman.

"I’d beat the s*** out of Conor," he told TMZ. "I would beat the s*** out of Conor right now. I’m double his age and I’d whoop is ass."

McGregor has fought just once since his defeat by Mayweather, losing by fourth-round submission to Khabib Nurmagomedov last October.

He has since been embroiled in controversy, seeing charges eventually dropped after he knocked a mobile phone from a fan's hand before allegedly punching a 50-year-old man in a Dublin pub.

McGregor appeared on ESPN last week to apologise for the latest incident.

"I mean, in reality, it doesn't matter what happened there. I was in the wrong," he said.

"That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without it having to end the way it did.

"Although it was five months ago and I made amends back then, it doesn't matter.

"I was in the wrong, I must come here and take accountability and responsibility.

"I owe it to the people who have been supporting me, my mother, my father, my family.

"I owe it to the people who trained me in martial arts. That is not who I am, that's not the reason I got into martial arts.

"I got into it to defend against that scenario. To see that, it is like a dagger into my heart.

"I am just hear to own up to that and move on and face what is coming.

"What happened is hazy for me and it was many months ago and I am taking steps to ensure it doesn't happen again."

McGregor wants a rematch with Nurmagomedov and plans to return to the Octagon later this year.
