Floyd Mayweather's bold Manny Pacquiao rematch prediction after their first fight

There has been much talk of a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in recent weeks.

The legendary duo have reignited their feud after Pacquiao called out Mayweather for a second fight after the retired American watched the Filipino outpoint Keith Thurman in impressive fashion last month.

With the 40-year-old rolling back the years and Mayweather well into his retirement, many believe the outcome could be different to their first clash back in May 2015.

The money-spinning bout, the most lucrative in the history of the sport, went in favour of Mayweather by unanimous decision - and the winner was adamant a few days afterwards that the outcome would never change.

He bragged he would beat Pacquiao "100 times out of 100" and stated Pacquiao will "never be on his level", predicting with full confidence the same outcome should a rematch ever materialise.

Mayweather told Showtime in May 2015: "I won. I knew I won. I knew I was the better fighter.

"We fight 10 times, I'm going to win 10 times.

"We fight 20 times, I'm going to win 20 times.

"We fight 100 times, I'm going to win 100 times.

"Manny Pacquiao just is not a better fighter than me, nowhere around the board.

"He was a beat fighter from round one, he knew it.

"He knew he couldn't beat Floyd Mayweather.

"Manny Pacquiao, you're not on my level. You will never be on my level. Period. Simple and plain.

"It's OK to be number two, it's OK to be right behind me. It's OK."

Despite his overwhelming confidence just after the fight, Pacquaio's legendary trainer, Freddie Roach, recently claimed Mayweather was "scared" after seeing his performance against Thurman.

"I'm not sure. Mayweather seems to be a little evasive," Roach told PBC.

"He was real quiet. He didn't stay at the fight after the decision was announced and call anyone out like he usually does.

"I think Manny scared him a little with that performance."
