Floyd Mayweather provides Manny Pacquiao rematch update after leaked video

Floyd Mayweather has declared there will "never be a rematch" with Manny Pacquiao after responding to a leaked video during which he claimed he was entering negotiations over a second fight.

The clip, which did the rounds on social media on Sunday night, sparked a significant reaction with Mayweather declaring he was travelling to Saudi Arabia to "talk about the Mayweather v Pacquiao rematch".

But Mayweather has confirmed the clip was several months old and revealed he was specifically asked to discuss Pacquiao for promotional purposes.

He has now categorically denied he will do battle with the Filipino legend again and stated there are "no talks" taking place.

Mayweather told Fighthype.com: "The video that y'all been seeing is false because I've been and went to Saudi Arabia. I went there a long time ago.

"I talked to them about me fighting there, just different fights, but they wanted me to specifically say Manny Pacquiao.

"And actually, we didn't just talk about boxing; we talked about different events; us bringing different events out there.

"Basically, that's an old video. At the end of the day, there's no talks about me and Manny Pacquiao fighting a rematch.

"Even if we did fight, all they're going to do is have an excuse, just like the first time.

"But as far as me and Manny Pacquiao, as of right now, it will never be a rematch."

But his stance does not seem to have changed since the immediate aftermath of their first fight, when he was angered by Pacquiao's claims he was suffering with a shoulder injury after a points defeat.
