Floyd Mayweather offered fight with YouTube star for boxing return

Floyd Mayweather's boxing return could come against YouTube star Reshad 'Money Kicks' Belhasa.

The YouTuber is 2-0 as an amateur boxer, winning two bouts against fellow social media stars last year on the inaugural 'Social Knockout' cards in Dubai.

And with Mayweather set to make his comeback to the ring for an intimate boxing event in the Middle East later this year, he has indicated that it may be against Belhasa.

The boxing icon took on Logan Paul last summer, and vowed never to return to the ring, even for a big-money exhibition that wouldn't show up on his record.

But he confirmed that he will be making a brief comeback during an event in Dubai, and it could be in the form of a bout with Belhasa.

"I spoke with James McNair [Mayweather's advisor] about Money Kicks," Mayweather said at a press conference announcing his plans to run events in Dubai.

"We don't really know, I think since he's from here it would be great, it's going to be a very special crowd, not too many people.

"So if you get a chance to come here, you must know that you're very, very special for this event.

"But the kid Money Kicks is doing great things and I'm liking what I'll see."

Mayweather will partner with Front Row Events in Dubai to host a "boxing showcase" on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel on February 20.

The boxing legend has not confirmed his opponent for the event, which is just a number of weeks away.

It will be his third exhibition bout since retiring from the sport at 50-0 after beating Conor McGregor in August 2017.

He viciously stopped Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018 before facing Paul last summer in a bout that went the eight-round distance.

And he will step into the ring in Dubai for what he says is a chance to "showcase his talent" to fans in the region.

He has insisted that what he's doing is "not a fight,", instead preferring the term "showcase".

"I don't like to call what I'm doing a fight," Mayweather said. "I like to call it a limited edition boxing showcase.

"Because it's bigger than just boxing - we want to give the people some entertainment so there will be more than one fight."

Belhasa has previously said that talks were underway for an exhibition with Mayweather, who has previously appeared as a friend in his YouTube videos.

"Next, you never know, may be Floyd," he said when asked for his future boxing plans during an appearance on the Lovin' Dubai Show last year.

"Talks are happening between me and Floyd Mayweather [for a bout] in the region, in Dubai."

Belhasa's two wins have come against fellow influencers Ajmal Kahn and Anas Elshayib, and he is also in talks to fight British YouTuber Faze Jarvis.
