Floyd Mayweather has insisted he will only fight on if he wants to - unlike his great rival Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather retired from the ring in 2017 after his win over UFC star Conor McGregor took his record to 50-0.
The pound-for-pound great, now 43, returned in an exhibition last year when he dominated Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
Pacquiao, 41, on the other hand, remains an active fighter and last summer outpointed Keith Thurman in an impressive display.
The Filipino, who lost to Mayweather in 2015, would likely have fought since had it not been for the coronavirus crisis.
And in an interview with rapper Fat Joe, Mayweather claimed Pacquiao has no choice but to fight on for financial reasons.
"My faculties and everything that I got come first," he said. "We just talked about your health is your wealth and that's why I got this towel on, I was working out today.
"Now, Pacquiao fights because he has to; once again, I fight if I want to so there's a difference."
Mayweather also denied claims be fought Pacquiao too late in their respective careers.
The rivals had been negotiating for more than five years before finally agreeing terms and touching gloves.
But the fight was widely criticised with fans claiming it would have been more exciting earlier in their careers.
"You keep saying in our prime [but] I'm older than Pacquiao by two years," Mayweather added. "We keep saying 'in your prime' [but] when I beat Pacquiao they said he wasn't in his prime and I'm older than him.
"And then when I fought Oscar De La Hoya, they said he's old and we're both in our 30's. No matter what happens it's never good enough for anyone. As long as I'm happy that's what's important."
