Flossmoor police fatally shoot woman armed with a knife during domestic disturbance call, officials say

Flossmoor police officers fatally shot a woman armed with a knife while responding to a domestic disturbance call on Sunday, officials said.

The woman was holding the knife when the officers arrived in the 1400 block of Joyce Drive in the south suburb, police said.

The woman was shot by police and was taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force was investigating the shooting, police said.
