Florida woman goes missing on a cross-country trip — then a strange note arrives at her mother’s house

A Florida woman has mysteriously vanished during a solo cross-country road trip, leaving behind a chilling final message for her mother.

Ganna Kovrizhynkh, 38, from Hallandale Beach, Florida, was last heard from on July 5 while traveling through San Diego County, California. The following day, her mother received a photograph of a handwritten letter, accompanied by GPS coordinates in Potrero, California. The letter contained instructions to transfer her personal assets to her mother, raising immediate concerns about her well-being.

Kovrizhynkh’s Jeep Grand Cherokee

On July 12, Kovrizhynkh’s Jeep Grand Cherokee and camper trailer were discovered abandoned near the 25000 block of Potrero Park Drive in San Diego County, coinciding with the GPS coordinates in the note her mother received.

Authorities have not determined whether foul play was involved or if she left voluntarily. Sergeant Jacob Klepach of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department stated, “We believe she was just kind of touring the country, and she left her vehicle in Potrero and never came back to her vehicle.”

Kovrizhynkh’s strange Facebook posts

Meanwhile, adding to the mystery, in the days leading up to her disappearance, Kovrizhynkh posted unsettling videos on Facebook under the alias “Angel Volnaya.” In one video, she claimed to be a prophet and warned of the rapture, displaying survival supplies such as a gas mask and a walkie-talkie. She also mentioned preparing churches for an impending event, stating, “Time is very close. Prepare all the churches; they should be ready. We are already at the last moment.”

Kovrizhynkh is described as 5’5″ tall, weighing approximately 100 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She has multiple arm tattoos and may be wearing a wig. Authorities suspect she may have crossed into Mexico near Tecate, though this remains unconfirmed.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) has listed her as missing, and the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating her. Anyone with information about Ganna Kovrizhynkh’s whereabouts is urged to contact the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department or Crime Stoppers. Her case remains open and under investigation.
