Florida TE Kyle Pitts declares for 2021 NFL draft

In one of the least surprising moves of the year, the nation’s top tight end prospect will be leaving school early for the next level.

Florida’s Kyle Pitts announced via social media Sunday morning that he will be foregoing his senior season with the Gators, and will declare for the 2021 NFL draft.

Listed at 6-6, 246 pounds, Pitts has been a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses all year long, with a rare combination of size, athleticism, length and catching ability. His swan song for the Gators was an impressive showing in Saturday night’s SEC title game, which Florida barely lost to top-ranked Alabama, in which he caught seven passes for 129 yards and a touchdown.

Pitts is the rare tight end prospect who will get top-10 consideration in the draft.
