Florida State's first coaching search in more than four decades could last just four days.
FSU officials are expected to meet with Oregon coach Willie Taggart in Arizona on Monday, according to multiple reports.
If Taggart is offered the Florida State job, he is expected to accept the position, with a formal announcement coming Tuesday.
As FSU's coaching search heats up, both Taggart and the Seminoles would like to reach an agreement early this week to begin recruiting efforts ahead of the Dec. 20 early signing period.
Taggart was in the state of Arizona on Monday to meet with the nation's No. 10 quarterback Tyler Shough, who is committed to Oregon.
Taggart would like to maintain Oregon's No. 7-ranked recruiting class if he does not get the FSU job.
If he accepts the FSU job, Taggart would like to work quickly to hire assistant coaches and reclaim FSU's class, which has plummeted to 32nd nationally during the past week.
The Seminoles are in the midst of their first official coaching search since hiring Bobby Bowden in 1976. Former offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher was a head-coach-in-waiting and no search was required when he took over the program.

Taggart has a 47-50 overall record during his eight-year coaching career, but he has led Western Kentucky, USF and Oregon to winning records during his tenures.
